SHIPPING POLICY

Delivery terms, timelines, and conditions

This Shipping and Delivery Policy sets forth the terms governing the processing, handling, and delivery of all orders placed with HARRINGTON BOOKSHOP SDN. BHD. through our official website www.harringtonbookshop.com and via authorised online marketplaces including Shopee, Lazada, TikTok Shop, and other approved regional platforms. This Policy must be read together with our Terms and Conditions of Sale and Use, Return/Refund/Cancellation Policy, and Warranty Policy. By placing an order, you agree to the terms contained in this Policy.

1 Shipping Coverage

Harrington Bookshop currently ships products to:

  • All states and territories within Malaysia, including Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah, and Sarawak
  • Singapore
  • Selected countries within Southeast Asia, subject to courier availability and applicable customs regulations
The Company may expand or limit its shipping destinations without prior notice, depending on logistical and regulatory considerations. International customers are responsible for all import duties, customs taxes, and clearance fees imposed by their local authorities.

2 Delivery Options and Charges

Domestic Delivery (Malaysia):

  • Delivery within Peninsular Malaysia is free of charge for selected models and promotional campaigns as advertised on our Website
  • Deliveries to East Malaysia (Sabah and Sarawak) may attract a modest shipping fee, calculated automatically at checkout

International Delivery (Singapore and Southeast Asia):

  • International shipping charges are displayed at checkout and vary based on destination, weight, and courier service
  • Customers are responsible for any import duties, customs taxes, or other fees imposed by the destination authority
The final shipping fee and delivery method will be confirmed before payment is completed at checkout. Shipping fees are displayed at checkout and are non-refundable once the order has been dispatched. Free shipping promotions apply only to standard domestic deliveries unless otherwise stated.

3 Order Processing Time

Orders for ready-stock items are typically processed and dispatched within one (1) to three (3) working days after full payment is received and verified.

Processing Guidelines
  • Orders containing pre-order items may require up to twenty-one (21) working days for processing, depending on supply chain timelines
  • Processing times exclude weekends and Malaysian public holidays
  • Orders placed during weekends, public holidays, or major sales campaigns may require additional time due to high volume
  • Any delays beyond the estimated timeline will, where feasible, be communicated to you by email or other contact channels
Shipping Confirmation & Tracking: Once your order has been dispatched, a shipping confirmation email or message will be sent containing your tracking number and courier details. Please note that tracking updates may take up to 24 hours to appear in the courier's system.

Pre-order and bulk orders may require additional lead time based on supplier or logistics availability. Customers will be notified in advance if fulfillment extends beyond standard timeframes.

Delivery timelines are estimates only. Delays may occur due to courier backlogs, customs clearance, weather conditions, or unforeseen disruptions. The Company shall not be liable for delays outside its reasonable control.

5 Order Tracking

Once your order has been dispatched, a tracking number and courier information will be provided via email or the Platform's order tracking system.

  • You may monitor your shipment using the tracking number on the courier's official website
  • If you encounter issues tracking your order, please contact our Customer Service team for assistance

6 Risk of Loss and Title Transfer

Title to and risk of loss or damage to products shall pass to the Customer upon:

  • Successful delivery to the shipping address provided; or
  • The courier system marking the package as "Delivered", whichever occurs first
Courier Liability & Risk Transfer: All parcels are securely packed and handed to licensed couriers. Risk of loss or damage transfers to the Customer once the courier marks the parcel as "Delivered" in the tracking system. The Company shall not be responsible for claims of non-receipt for parcels marked as delivered.

After delivery, Harrington Bookshop shall not be liable for loss, theft, or damage caused by third parties, negligence, or failure to collect packages in a timely manner. Customers are encouraged to ensure a safe and accurate delivery address and to inspect items promptly upon receipt.

Customers must ensure all shipping details provided are complete and accurate. Orders returned due to incorrect, incomplete, or unverified addresses will incur additional re-delivery charges. The Company is not liable for delays or losses caused by inaccurate information.

7 International Shipments and Customs

All international shipments (including those to Singapore) are shipped on a Delivery Duty Unpaid (DDU) basis unless explicitly stated otherwise.

  • Import duties, customs taxes, or clearance fees imposed by the destination country must be paid by the Customer
  • If a Customer refuses to pay applicable import fees or fails to complete customs clearance, the parcel may be returned or destroyed by local authorities
  • In such cases, the Company reserves the right to deduct incurred costs (including return freight and customs handling fees) from any refund due or to deny a refund altogether if the product is unrecoverable
  • The Customer bears responsibility for ensuring compliance with local import regulations prior to placing an order

8 Delivery Failures and Re-Delivery

If a delivery fails due to an incorrect address, incomplete information, or unavailability of the recipient, the courier may return the parcel to us.

  • The Customer will be notified and offered the option of re-delivery, subject to payment of additional shipping charges
  • If the Customer chooses to cancel the order instead, such cancellation will be treated as a return under the Refund Policy, subject to applicable deductions for shipping and handling costs
  • The Company is not liable for parcels uncollected beyond the courier's holding period
If delivery fails due to unavailability of the recipient, incorrect address, or refusal to accept, the parcel may be returned to the Company or the courier's depot. Re-delivery will incur additional charges borne by the Customer.

9 Damaged, Missing, or Lost Parcels

  • If you receive a parcel that appears damaged or tampered with, you must notify us within 48 hours of delivery and retain all packaging materials for inspection
  • If an item is missing or lost in transit, please contact us within seven (7) days of the estimated delivery date. We will coordinate with the courier to trace and resolve the issue
  • Depending on the outcome of the investigation, the Company may, at its discretion, offer a replacement, refund, or credit, subject to confirmation by the courier
  • The Company's total liability for lost or damaged shipments shall not exceed the value of the affected product
If a parcel arrives visibly damaged or tampered with, Customers must notify the courier at delivery and record photographic or video evidence before unboxing. The Company may assist with courier claims but shall not be responsible for compensation unless Company negligence is established.

10 Force Majeure and Uncontrollable Events

Harrington Bookshop shall not be responsible for any delay or failure to deliver resulting from circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, pandemics, government actions, strikes, or courier disruptions.

In such cases, delivery will be resumed as soon as practicable, and customers will be kept informed of material delays.

11 Marketplace Orders

For orders placed on Shopee, Lazada, TikTok Shop, or other authorised marketplaces, delivery timelines, courier options, and refund procedures are also governed by each platform's shipping policy.

  • In the event of any inconsistency between this Policy and the platform's mandatory shipping terms, the platform's rules shall prevail to the extent required
  • Harrington Bookshop will cooperate fully with marketplace dispute resolution processes but shall not be liable for delays or issues resulting from third-party courier arrangements controlled by the platform

12 Data Protection in Delivery Operations

Personal information collected for the purpose of shipping (including names, addresses, and phone numbers) will be processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy, the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (Malaysia), and PDPA 2012 (Singapore).

Data will only be shared with third-party logistics providers for the purpose of fulfilling delivery and will not be used for marketing without consent.

13 Amendments and Updates

Harrington Bookshop reserves the right to amend or update this Shipping and Delivery Policy at any time.
